Authored data
World and project files store authored content. Ordinary Play changes must not rewrite those files.
Runtime state
Play keeps temporary overrides and objects. Stopping Play discards them.
Save data
The save service stores supported typed values in a project-specific application-data location. Set and remove operations are staged until an explicit commit. Commits replace a versioned save document atomically. Newer unsupported formats must be rejected rather than rewritten. For game authors, see Save data.
