Getting started

Write and run your first AeoScript file.

Write a script

Create a file under scripts/ in your project. Use the .aeo extension.

debug.log("Game script loaded")

Top-level code runs when the script starts. This example does not need an entity declaration or an object binding.

Run it

Start Play mode. Open Output and look for Game script loaded.

If it does not appear, check that the file is saved and enabled. Read the first error in Output before changing more code.

Add a function

Learn how to declare and call functions. Use variables to keep values in the same script.

Choose a script style

Use a top-level script for game-wide setup. Use an Actor-attached Module for behavior belonging to one Actor. Use an Entity script when you need the Entity lifecycle.

[BETA] marks features newer than the current public release. Current release: 0.8.0.
